Hi Everyone,

I'm a newbie. I just got a 2004 Accord EX V6 Coupe. I'm upsizing from my stock 205/60/16s and after using the tire calculator have determined that 225/50 R 17 would be the best size. However, I can get a great deal on 235/50 R 17.... my question is - will tires that wide (235s) rub or cause any problems on this car without lowering or doing any suspension work????

Any helpmis appreciated.

I doubt that you'll rub at stock height, but at 60mph you'll be between 1 to 2 mph faster than your speedo is reading. Not a big deal if your not a speed demon. I'd go with the correct size personally...only because no one can guarantee that it will or won't all cars are different. Two of the same models with the same wheels may have different problems with rubbing.

i woudl think that the only issue is going to be the speedo, like 6thgen said.

I actually decided to go with 225/50/17 which is the closest to my stock wheel size and since they are 10mm thinner i don't think i'll have a rubbing issue.

I'm getting Hankook Hankook Ventus HRII H405 Tires. Anyone have experience with them? For what I'm doing they should be more than fine. They're here if you wanna see them: http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?tirebrand=Hankook&tiremodel=Ventus+HRII+H405
