Hi there,
1994 Accord LX. To close the truck becomes quite an exercise these days. Basically, the truck won't get locked if I'm not throwing the lid down real hard using all of strength, and luckily one time the truck is locked. Sometimes, I have to do that 5, 6 times (then i'm exhausted). The problem is getting worse, something must be bended.
Anyone exeperienced this? What to adjust or replace? Anyone has owner's manual on this? Want to know of the magnitude of the problem before sending to the shop for this.
Thanks,
CJ

Next time you have the trunk open look at the the locking mechanism in the trunk lid. You should see a piece of metal thats hooked if its all the way down, push it off to the side if it moves back then there might be something wrong with the trunk lid itself, but if it doesnt move back the spring that is in there may be broken. Internal parts to that locking mechanism generally arent sold.

the problem is probly the loop at the bottom where the trunk hooks up to. there are a couple phillips screws that hold it on, if they get loose, the loop with move making closing the trunk very difficult.
