The dealer charges like $90-100 to investigate a problem. Is there any other reliable place I can go to get my car checked out?

this forum is not a bad place to start. What sort of problems are you having?
There are usually better, less expensive small shops, if you can find them. Don't expect anyone to do a complete diagnosis for free (unless they do the repair).

This is one of those questions where some of our members will say go read on how to post your name, city state and zipcode, the car and model, engine size, trans type and etc, etc.
Your lucky DesertHonda-who owns his own Dealer ship didn't jump in here and tell you the same as I just did..please fill in the answers in your profile for all to see...and I bet yu will then get an answer...TRY IT

Dealerships or independent shops....some are better than others. And the techs in any shop......some are better than others. Your best bet would be to ask around and find a place you trust. A local car forum may be a good place to check.

I already posted my problem here:
http://www.hondaaccordforum.com/Breaks_squeaking_%3D%5B/m_112519/tm.htm

But I don't feel confident trying to investiageate anything myself being that I don't have a manual with instructions. I don't have experience with cars and will probably take something apart and not know how to put it back.

I remember someone posting a link to a site that sold a repair manual for like $25 but I can't find the link...

There's a link to download, or view the manual on here for free by searching the forum.
