Default Interior project (Pics inside)

First of all let me explain what I am doing, I have a 95 accord ex with tan interior, but I hate the tan interior. IMO it seems like it always looks dingy even when it's clean. So I decided to change my car from having tan interior to all black. I wanted to take my time and make sure I did everything right so it has been taking me a bit longer than I wanted it to. It doesn't make it any better that ithas been in the30's and rainy for the past 2 weeks. But today it made it close to 50 so I decided to start back up on it. So far I have pulled almost all the plastic pieces out of my car and got them painted, I have also changed my carpet from tan to black and got my back seats and my passenger seat changed to black as well. I don't have a lot of pics at the moment but tomorrow I intend on getting alot more done and taking tons of pics. I want to hear alot of feedback on my progess and all of your opinion and questions if you have any.

A few pics of my stripped interior

I intend onpainting my headliner, my rear deck, the rest of my plastic interior pieces, and the top part of my dash ( as soon as I figure out how to get it out :P ) tomorrow and many pics will follow. Let me know what you guys think about it.

Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. I do very frequently get pissed and bored with the project but everytime I get something new done it makes me want to do more and more so I can see the finished project. The carpet is the same carpet in the before pic all I did was clean it and paint it.I was going to order new carpet but painting my orginal carpet turned out really well. I already have it put back in my car and it looks great. I will get pics of it in my cartomrrow.

Dang! That looks like a TON of work! But if you have a 2nd car I think it would be fun and a great learning process for interior tasks. How was it taking the seats out? Also, how did you paint the carpet? I would think that if you paint carpet the fibers will clump together or get stiff. Looks good though! It would be cool if you put a Honda logo on there in silver!

Yeah it has been quite a bit of work to pull everything out and I not even close to being done. I did paint the carpet, it turned out great not stiff at all and the color is very uniform. It makes it look like I bought brand new carpet and put it in. Where do you think I should put a silver honda logo?

You can spray paint carpet and it works awesome. You just let it dust on basically, let it dry, then do it again. I did it in my CRX on the rear deck. I did an interior re-paint in that (it was all blue) to black with a couple red highlights here and there. It looked bad BUM, actually revinyled part of the door and then painted the bottoms.

But yeah, spray painting carpet works amazing. And it doesn't rub off if you start with clean carpet!

Oh yeah, when it comes time for your seat belts, you can dye them, but to get them REALLY black it will take a few times. Mix a little india ink in with the dye and that will help. Good luck man, it looks good!

Good job bro. I've painted a couple of carpets before with Dupli-Color vinyl and fabric paint... Works really well. I love to strip interiors out of cars. I do it to every car I buy and pressure wash the crap out of my seats, carpet, etc. It makes such a huge difference....
