Default 2002 Honda Accord - Odometer lights, Parking lights, and other lights not working

Today I installed a new after market head unit in my car with an experienced friend. Everything is hooked up correctly and functioning. However when I turn on my parking lights they do not come on, also the dash lights to the tachometer, speedometer, fuel and temperate gauge do not come on. Also the lights to the automatic transmission (P,N,D4,D3,2,1) lights do not come on.

Note: Headlights do work as well as the odometer back light and clock light. Battery was unplugged during the entire installation of the head unit.

Does anyone think a fuse may have coincidentally blown after hooking up the battery again to test the newly installed head unit?

so your parking lights and instrument cluster dont work? i would first check fuses if you havent done so. did you use a harness adapter to wire your new unit or splice into the factory wiring?

I used a wire harness provided from Crutchfield. I dont exactly know which fuses to check because its such an odd collection of lights that are not working.

Check anything that has to do with the lighting such as parking lights or instrument cluster. Like I said any lighting fuses check, don't know if the parking lights are fused together or fused left and right so just start checking there. Ive done plenty of stereo installs from simply head units to a full upgrade and have never run into a situation like this so my reaction would to be to first check all fuses before pulling apart and double checking my work

I've moved this to the audio section but my fear is that "some how" the multiplex got blown......

start by disconnecting and safely capping the orange and orange/white illumination wires.

Default Problem Resolved

So after calling crutchfield twice and relentlessly trying to diagnose my car, I finally discovered the problem(s). First things first, the orange illumination wires were bridged (which you are most definitely not suppose to do) so I unbridged the orange wires thinking that may have solved the problem. It ultimately did not, however it probably prevented future ones. After checking all the fuses, I finally found a blown fuse. The "Small light/license light" fuse was blown, so I replaced the fuse and everything was back to working order.
