I have a 2005 ex. A couple weeks ago, the radio died. Everything seemed to work, but it gave off no sound except for a click in the right rear speaker when you turned it on. THe display worked. Xm seemend to find the stations, just no sound.
I ordered a rebuilt radio. I put it in, and darn...same thing, no sound, just a click in the rear speaker when I turn it on...Any ideas what to do?

 

is there an external factory amplifier in that car?

 

It has the amp in the radio...

Someone suggested that I try unplugging the speakers one by one, thought one might be grounded. I unplugged the right rear and everything worked. Apparently somone (my bride) put something in the trunk and bent a speaker wire and grounded it out...a little electrical tape until I get a new speaker and everything works fine. This is somthing to remember, and the grounded speaker is the one that made the click when you turned it on.
