Default Tap fuse

Hi,

I want to connect my DLR to 12V supply (ACC). So thought of tapping it from the fuse box. I have identified the fuses that I could tap. There are two options.

1. Tap from the fuse box under the hood.
2. Tap from the fuse box at driver side.

I want to know which option is the best?

If i tap it from the hood I dont know if there is a neat way of taking that wire outside. And will the case be air tight. If I tap it from driver side then i would have to take that wire through the firewall and it might requiring piercing the firewall rubber.

There should be lots of holes to use in the firewall. Look for other wires. May be hard to work under there. My Corvair has only seven fuses!

inside fuse box is usually the easiest. get an add-a-fuse tap and keep wiring well protected. also be sure it's not a high-draw device. i recommend limiting any add-a-fuse to 10A. higher current loads should be switched through relays and powered from the battery directly.

Thanks.

I am planning to light 2 LED bulbs, so load wont be much. Also planning to put a 10A fuse.
