Some might debate this but I'm in the 7 year/ 100K miles "camp".

Do you tend to drive lower miles & hit 7 years before you hit 100k miles? If so, then the high-temperature climate means you should not ignore the 7-year spec.

Or... when the owner's manual says 60k miles for "severe service (high temperatures)", does it ALSO give a shorter time vs 7 years?

No, replace at 105k miles is fine.

I've always replaced mine around 100K miles, no issues.

Just a side comment, Honda eliminated the 7-Year requirement for timing belt replacement sometime in the Gen-7 Accord timeframe. My 2001 Gen-6 V6 Accord called for 7-Years or 105,000 miles, whichever came first, my 2006 3G TL calls for 105,000 miles, regardless of time.

I just picked up mine with 276,585. So... no telling when it was changed. last. Carfax shows at 113k. So... I'm hoping it's been changed since then. If not... well... it's LONG overdue.
