Default F23A motor swap with a H23A

Whats goin on guys gotta question. ive got a 2002 honda accord ex 2.3 (F23A) motor automatic with v-tech. ive been wanting 2 do a motor swap with a H23A. ive been doin research but havent found many ppl that have done that with my generation accord. i did find a article on a 94 accord with a F22 motor swap with a H22 and that is basically the same motor i have. so i can install the motor thats not a problem im a car mechanic. im jus wondering if that motor is compatible with my car and if its trully obd2 ready(i have emission testing where i live)? what kind of transmission do i have 2 get(i wanna stay automatic if i can)? ive got alot more question but ill wait 2 see if anyone knos nethang about this....thanks

Its compatible with your car. It would be difficult to find a OBD2 ECU to run it.

You can use the transmission that is in the car.

im sorry that i forgot 2 mention this early but its a blue top H23a motor from japan...so it would bolt right up 2 my transmission? wow....so removing the motor from either a 94 accord lx or a 02 accord ex is the same? so it would b hard 2 find a obd2 ecu 2 run it....well thats a kick in the ***** cuz thats really important...have ne suggestions?

Yeah I assumed it was the DOHC VTEC motor.

All f22/h22/f23 transmissions are interchangeable.

Well the thing with the H23a is that it is so different than any other motor you either need a h23a ecu, or a chipped p28. I don't know for sure but the h23a ecu probably has an immobilizer in it so it can't be used in any car other than the one it came out of.

And a chipped p28 is obd1.

What some people do is run the OBD1 ecu all the time, then when it comes time for inspections swap it out for your stock ecu. Sometimes they will run them well enough to pass emissions, but you wouldnt really want to drive with it.

Why do you want to do a motor swap with a DOHC which mean you want to go fast but still want to keep stock the automatic tranny, may i ask ? I drove a 98 prelude H22 Vtec auto a few days ago and not impress with it. Also drove a 93 civic hatch with H23 swap and it's slow for some reason, i think a healthy f23 with the 5sp is more fun to drive.

The h22 auto has a lower HP rating and the prelude is pretty heavy.
Also he was talking about a h23a vtec. Has the best of both worlds (low end and high end power) and also the h23a vtec only came with a auto trans in Japan b/c of the lower red line from the h23/f22 crank and rods. But with the right mods can be a beast of a engine.

My friend was tellin me i could piggyback a h22 ecu with that h23motor and swap my stock one in for emissions...i would jus have 2 let it warm up (cuz of the oil pressure) and let the monitors run and not beat on it...like i really want 2 upgrade my motor but my buddy is sellin his 97 civic dx for $1200 so i dont kno if im gonna do the motor swap on my accord or start messin around wit this civic
