DTC and TCS codes meaning?
Hi Guys,
The check engine light on my dashboard has been on for some weeks now. it used to go on and off every now and then but recently for the past week or so it came on and went off. That’s been said, the TCS light comes on at some times when it should not. I managed to read the codes for both lights.
For the Check Engine Light, it gives me two codes, 12 and 20. The TCS light gives three long blinks and 1 short which means code 31 assuming it is the same method for reading the CEL. Does this combination indicates a known issue. Any ideas??
I found that code 12 for the CEL means a problem with EGR Valve and code 20 has to do with the Electrical Load Detector Circuit. No Idea what code 30 for the TCS indicates. Any help would be appreciated.

For the EGR, start by cleaning out the EGR passages in the intake manifold. That's more common than an actual failed EGR valve.
ELD might be built into your under-hood fusebox. Depending on what year car you're talking about...
I don't know about the TCS error.
