This has happened to me and took awhile to figure out- searches on web and talking to a few mechanic buddies.

Driving down the road and EVERYTHING turns on and off...then is fine again. Then it doesnt do it again for a few weeks. You go and start car..it starts, but then dies once you move key back to "on"

Whats wrong?

Just a shot in the dark........check all of the ground straps such as from battery to frame, frame to engine, etc. A loose connection could cause the problem, along with many other things.

lol....i forgot about this.

Its a ignition switch.

The copper connections inside melt and corrode away. Its a big problem in the 94-98 cars i've read.

Total cost if you DIY it, about $60. Dremel is required to cut slots in break-away bolts. Its a bit of a pain to tear everything down to get to it..have to drop the steering column...mind you this was in 15*F winter snowy weather crap.lol

i work for a honda dealership in madison wi...and the accords models 98 to 2002 had a recall on the ignition because you could take the key out in park and the vehicle would die from time to time..it could also be your main relay as well..those are pretty well knowen to go out in hondas i found that out myself...well good luck!

Now theres another great reason for me to just keep my 91 Accord.
Seems as tho the newer Hondas get to many newer problems than us who own the OLDER Ones.

i think its because hondas used to be really basic, now they have that navigation, heated seats, power seats, and all those extra lil things they dont need..more stuff for the customer, but yet more of a pain in the a$$
