Is there a way to remove the top speed limit on a 2009 Accord 3.5L V6?
Forgive me if this is already answered, but my searches didn't find it. Can one remove the 125 mph limit on a 2009 Honda Accord 3.5L V6? Not that I would be interested in doing that!
Thanks for any replies.

p.s. the limit is set at 135
take it to an auto shop. they will probably have a tuner that can do it. if not, they will probably know somebody who does.
On a side note: It is possible, but with 5 or even six gears, the engine is still in the upper half of its rpm band. you may only get 10-15 more mph out of it.
is it worth the extra 300 dollars or so for the tuning?
also remember that with the possibilty of going more than 150mph, you need better tires than the ones that come stock on the car. They are only rated to 149mph(V). so get some W or Y rated tires that are much grippier.
one other point: honda limited the top speed for a reason(and it's def not legal reasons) if not just tire expense, the aerodynamics at 155mph or so, are such that a car w/out any splitters, diffusers or FUNCTIONAL spoilers (not the spoilers you get from honda..they just look pretty) might lift off. it doesnt sound possible, but remember what a 150mph wind would feel like to you. it would knock you off your feet.
I'm not saying don't, I'm just saying that the reason the fastest cars in the world are so expensive, is because they need to be to withstand the forces of that speed.
Be safe,
Jason

Hello,
I would like to do the same thing with my car, its Honda Accord EX-L V6 4 doors 4AT. Currently it reaches max 218km/h, and i believe since the car speed meter is maxed to 260km/h, then it should be safe to reach there. I also would like to know if there are any tuning chips or upgrades available & tested for this model.
Regards,
Assadi
