Tru-Time Cam Gears

Without tuning, would AEM cam gears set at zero realize me any gains?

You may have some TINY gains from the weight reduction but nothing to speak of.... so basically No you won't notice anything at a 0 setting...

Whole point of adjustable cam gears is to get the timing off of 0
