Default 02 Accord EX 2.3 Vtech Misfiring P0300,P1399,P0301,P0302,P0304

I have a 2002 Honda Accord Vtech 4cyl engine. The codes that i am getting is
P0300,
P1399,
P0301,
P0302,
P0304,

The car starts up fine and runs pretty well cold, When hot, It starts misfiring like crazy and the car jerks. The car does not turn of but stalls a lot while on idle. I have replaced the ICM(ignitor), Coil, Spark plugs,Wires, Distributor cap, and Rotor, My mechanic recommends me to replace the whole Distributor.

What do u guys think?

Was any work done on the car before this problem started? Did the problem start out of nowhere? Did you fill up with gasoline right before the problem started?

You can erase the codes by removing the 7.5 amp backup/radio fuse in the passenger side fuse box for a minute. Drive the car until the check engine light turns on. Then stop by an autoparts store and have them scan for codes.

Another thought, disconnect the battery and clean all ends of both battery cables. Use a wire brush.

When (or if) the check engine light returns, when at the autoparts store have them test the battery and alternator as well.

the problem started last summer but it wasn't bad. It started to get bad this spring and now its even worse. Would the battery cause the car to misfire even though the car starts perfectly fine?

Yes it can.

Has the egr port even been cleaned?

I checked the EGR ports and it was very clean. i just took off the egr valve and checked the small port. Do i have to open the whole engine cover to inspect it.

Were plugs Bosch plugs? Some have reported problems w/ these plugs.

Problem has appearance of ignition system (ignitor, coil, rotor, or cap) breaking down w/ temperature.

Suggest trying a spark leakage test at night. Spray wires heaveily w/ fine mist of water and crank engine while looking for sparks jumping. This would eliminate faulty wires and tower.

Check that ignition ground near the thermostat housing is secure and clean.

This could be an ECM fault, however in that case the faulty circuit usually sets a code related to ignition timing, TDC sensor, #1 cyl position (CYP), or crankshaft postion (CKP). A used ECM is $50-$100 bucks on car-part.com and ebay.

good luck

I am using Bosch Spark Plugs. Would that make the car misfire on all 4 cylinders?

Again, some have reported issues with Bosch plugs.

On the 6th gen 4 cyl, the egr port that cloggs is between the upper and lower part of the intake manifold......not sure if this pic will come out well, I tried to circle the port in red

i just got another code today.

P1381

It looks to be Cylinder position sensor. Can i just swap the sensor, or do i need a new distributor?
