'03 EX-L Intermittent CEL p2195, p0171
So here's a short back story. Before I did an oil change, the CEL came on throwing the P2195. After, it went off for about two weeks. I took a road trip, and when I came back it and P0171 have been coming on and off randomly. I checked the fix for the P2195 (cleaning air housing, replacing air filter). The air filter box was completely littered with dead leaves and dirt which I cleared out. I also put a new air filter in.
I went to Autozone, the girl there cleared the codes and the light went went out for about a day. It's been coming on and going off randomly since then throwing the same codes.
If it's any help, it doesn't have a MAF sensor. I haven't noticed a real loss in performance at all.
I do know that there was a TSB about the 2195 being thrown out because of an update to the Accord's computer which I'd need to take to the dealership, but the 0171 is really what's confusing me now. Would a good throttle body cleaning do the trick?

1. Honda TSB #04-038 in regards to the PCM update for DTC P2195 (rear air fuel ratio sensor signal stuck lean) is only applicable to the V6. In addition, even if it was a V6, the update would not necessarily resolve P2195 if the issue was due to something other than software.
2. P0171 is Fuel System Too Lean.
3. Both codes can be due to various reasons. However, it may just be that the air/fuel ratio sensor needs to be replaced or it is a faulty connection at the sensor or PCM.

I checked to see if the A/F sensor was loose, and it seemed nice and tight, so I may need to replace that. I cleaned the throttle body as well.
I did notice something however a few things however. The heat shield surrounding it was really rusty, to the point of crumbling when I touched it, and when I checked the fuel injectors, I came across this pretty site. I *think* it's from the cloth insulation from under the hood, as I noticed it was sagging quite a bit.
Highly doubtful, but do you think debris from that stuff could trip the code as well?
