The reason I'm asking is that I just bought a low mile 04 Accord sedan that has been hit in the front.

I have found locally an 04 Accura TSX sedan with the full front clip with EVERYTHING I need for the Honda. [Hood, fenders, bumper cover, radiator, rad support, headlights, etc].

So I was wondering if they were built on the same chassis [think Mercury Marque vs Ford LTD, body parts will interchange] they might swap some body parts.

For the record, I've been doing body work/paint for over 25 years so as long as the chassis is the same I think I can swap fairly easy.......

I don't think so.

The Acura TSX was basically the JDM/EUDM Accord, which is a smaller car than the USDM Accord. Many mechanical bits would swap, but I doubt whether body & chassis parts would swap.

The part I'm looking at is for an 08, and up TSX which used the 7th gen chassis, which you're right is bigger than the previous gen Accura.

The early 04-07 TSX used the previous gen Accord chassis which was smaller than the 04 up American Accord.

The best place to get the best answer would be to go to your local Honda - Acura body shop at the dealerships and present them with that same question..

Still confusing because now you say 2008 TSX (8th-gen) instead of your first post saying 2004 TSX.

It might work, but I would just be guessing.

 

Sorry for the confusion. The CL ad had it listed that way, as the listing was for an 04 Honda Accord.

I had to re-read the ad again to find out it was actually an 08 TSX front clip. I don't know if they were saying it would fit 04 Honda or what....

Your also right in that it would be $700 gamble on my part to find out if it worked or not.

However, I don't know when an 04 Accord that is hit in the rear will pop up.........so I'm still scratching my head.

I'm thinking about just repairing, and selling the car SO, with IF the TSX front fits, do you think peoples heads would explode with the Accord having the wrong front clip [even if the work is spot on, and the fit is perfect]?
