Default 96 accord with turn signal short

Hello,

I'm trying to help my sister get her 96 accord working again. yesterday I tried to fix the turn signal issues. Checked the fuse (15A) under the hood, blown, replaced it. Checked the fuse (7.5A) under the dash, blown, replaced it. Turned the car on and turned the right blinker on works with out blowing either fuse. Changed from the right blinker to the left POP the fuse (7.5A) under the dash blew. Replaced it and tried again and again it popped.

Today I put a new 7.5A fuse in and tried to troubleshoot. Once again the right works and the left not. So I put another fuse in and tested the hazards switch and that blew the 15A fuse under the hood. All lights are working. Any thoughts or ideas on what to do?

The two components that could be the problem are the hazard switch or the turn signal/hazard relay.

Replace the fuses. Unplug the turn signal/hazard relay. Try turning on the hazard lights and/or the turn on the left turn signal. See if the fuse(s) blow. Let us know what happens.

Well got her fixed. The driver side front turn signal wires where spliced together and that became bad and was shorting out blowing the fuse. Once I figured out the problem it was quicker to fix that then to put everything back together. But thank you PAhonda for you ideas. I will be coming back if i have any more problems.

Glad you figured it out. Wiring problems can be a pain to figure out. Shoddy electrical repairs make for even more frustration at times.

I try to solder wires together then use shrink wrap to waterproof the connection when possible.
