1993 Accord EX, Very difficult to shift from park to reverse.
I'm noticing it's getting very difficult to change from park to reverse, and vise-versa. Not the actual car gearing it's self, but the physical lever, it is very hard to move sometimes.
Any ideas?
I am taking it to the shop today, just wanted to get an idea before I go in with nothing.
Thanks

Excessive friction through any shifting could be the shift cable rusting inside it's sheath. I've heard of that occasionally.
Friction and/or misalignment of the shift lever. Take apart the console & see what you can determine.
Or... if it's only coming out of PARK, then maybe something flaky with the brake/shift interlock.

Well when you take it OUT of park, and put it INTO park, it seems to be when it get's funky... But maybe... 2 out of 10 times, it will work fine. But it is still a problem, I assuming I my cousin is just going to either clean something or replace it, either is fine. As long as my Tranmission doesn't asplode.
