Cool 1993 Accord lx front wheel stud replacement

I recently tried to replace one of my front studs that were broke. I removed the for bolts that attach to the rotor, and the main nut to the half shaft. With a gear puller looking tool i tried to remove the bracket piece that holds the studs. It wouldnt budge. Did I forget something? Just checking to see if there was something i was doing wrong. PLEASE HELP!!!

If you rotate the hub around, is there any position where there's enough room to push the studs out? If you can do it in place, that'll save you a lot of hassle.

The only room i gain removing the four bolts from the rotor isnt enough to put a new one in. I could pull the old one out that way, but i wouldnt be able to put a new one in. I have always love accords, had an 02 SE at one point in my life and LOVED IT. I cant believe a 5 dollar part is causing me this much trouble. Any more suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry for the incorrect posting area.

Well, look for threads about working on "hub-over-rotor" front brakes. Use that as a search string. I never had a pre-97 Accord, so I don't know whether there's any snap rings you need to remove, or which clever tools you should get.

I had to replace a front wheel stud in my 95 Integra, and like yours there isn't room to get the stud out & in. Have to press the hub out from the knuckle, which destroys the wheelbearing. So a $5 stud turns into a new wheelbearing.

The 1990-1993 (4th gen Accords) are similar to the 1994 - 1997 (5th gen Accords) brakes. To replace the wheel studs, remove the brake caliper, then line up the broken studs with the opening in the splash guard. Then hammer them out and replace them with new ones in the same opening. See link:

Honda-Tech - View Single Post - So I did something extremely stupid today, and broke something on my '94 Accord.

This is much faster and easier.

Also, you don't have to remove the cv joint shown in that picture, that picture was just to show how the wheel stud bolts would be in relation to the splash guard and hub.

I just replaced all the studs on my 95 EX and it was rather simple. Follow the instructions above, rotate the rotor around and knock out the old one, slip the new one on, few washers, tighten it up and there you go.

I was rotating my tires when I had two break on me, so I went ahead and replaced all of them for ease and peace of mind.

Default stud breakage

I appreciate all the info on replacing the broken one. Now onto a similar problem. I put a set of 15 inch stock rims off of a 2007 Suzuki Forenza on my 93 Accord. The lugs fit into the holes fine, but now it seems like it is breaking studs. The first stub I spoke of was already broke when I bought the car. It also had aftermarket 17s on it as well. It just seems since the switch, ive been having problems. Today it broke a stud on the driver front, which was the opposite side than the first one. Any and all feed back is GREATLY appreciated
