1994 Accord EX burning smell in car....
I have a 94 EX with 148K miles on it and the other day while going to work
I smelled a burning smell inside the car and at first thought it was on the outside
from the environment. When I got to work (a 9 mile ride) it was pretty strong although
I couldn't see any smoke inside the car. The outside smell was normal but the smell inside the
car remained for a while with the windows closed.
Does the 94 Accord have anyknown issues with wires overheating or getting hot? Later on while going home and then going to work the next day (today) I didn't notice any smell at all and everything is and was working fine. I checked under the dash for a smell but didn't notice anything later in the day.
Anyone have any ideas where the smell could be coming from? Also does the heater fan have a ballast resistor that could be burning out or burning foriegn matter collecting on it? Where is it located if so?
Thank you,
Michael

RE: 1994 Accord EX burning smell in car....
was the heater on when you noticed the smell? Did it smell like a smoke or a burning plastic/rubber? Check the motor and make sure you don't have a small oil leak..
No common known issues for that...
