2000 Accord radio error taking out radio
#2
Go to installdr.com or search, it's very easy to do.
The radio serial number and the radio anti-theft code are NOT the same number. The code is 4-5 digits long and should be with the owners manual and vehicle info stuff.

You should be able to press and hold the 'one' and 'six' buttons while turning on the radio. Then a number set will display, press them again and then you should have the "REF" number. With that info the dealer should be able to get you the code

and theres no # in manual the manual is for a different one i think.
one of the bolts holding the radio in place is stripped but there is a # written in the dash when i took it off 8020

Try using that 8020 as the radio security code?
The radio security code is originally supplied on a little plastic card (size of a credit card) inside the owner's manual package. You're supposed to keep that someplace else, not in the car... Then most people forget about it when they sell the car.
Lots of dealers write that number someplace, but not always & not in the same place.

Looking at your original post, it's a bit confusing. I thought you were looking for the security code which you enter into the radio (using the station buttons) after you have disconnected power.
What are you actually trying to do?

So the display shows "ERROR"? Is there more, like an error number?
Normally (if there's no error) after you disconnect the battery, the radio will display "CODE" & you have to enter that security code.
