2000EX 5MT front seat swap
Just swapped the front seats from cloth to leather in my Accord. The leather seats I got are from a 1999 and there is no electrical connector on the passenger seat for SRS. My SRS light is on, what do I have to do to remedy the problem. Is it a sensor that I have to remove out of the old cloth seat and install in the new leather one?

Has anyone used the paper clip method to reset their SRS light? I found a website that says to remove the yellow plug from under the dash and insert a paper clip into each side of the plug. Turn the ignition on and watch for the SRS light to blink twice and than turn off the ignition. Remove the paper clip and start the car. Light should be off. I'm thinking about giving it a try, but would like to hear from one of you guys before I proceed.

Was there an electrical connection on the old seat that wasn't on the new leather seat?
My guess is that something was unplugged (like the seat belt) and you turned the key on.
I've done that method to reset the SRS light. Just make sure you find the proper connector to short. The yellow plug you are looking for plugs into a socket that has no wires/pins. The wire colors will both be green or one black wire and a light green wire with a black stripe.

^That's the problem, the new seat does not have the electrical connector that the old seat has. I did a scan and no codes. If I knew that the airbag would still deploy with the SRS light on I wouldn't even worry about it.

Neither seat has a side airbag. The problem is with the seat belt connector. The old one had an electrical plug on the connector the new one didn't. I disconnected the old seat w/o disconnecting the battery first. That left a fault, I have since installed the correct seat belt connector with the electric plug on the leather seat. I just have to get ride of the code. I'm going to the pick a part near me today to get the drivers side front seat. If I can't reset the fault with the paper clip, I'll just bite the bullet and take it to Honda to reset.

^Thanks PA, I found the yellow plug that clears the fault with the paper clip. The only problem is to be able to insert/remove/insert the paper clip in the 4 seconds that it allows between the light going off and back on.
