Howdy, thanks if you can help me.

My 2001 Accord won't start. -tried these things:
replaced spark plugs, distributor cap, spark plug wires, rotor
Checked ignition coil, resistances meet specifications.

when i try to start the engine, the engine tries to turn over- the starter motor is working and the crankshaft/timing belt is turning.


When we turn on the electrical system (but don't try to start) we can hear a high pitched whirring type noise - if I am listening near the gas tank. I assume this is the fuel injector that we are hearing.

any other tips on things to check for? Not psyched about towing it to a mechanic/$$$

 

I don't understand what you're asking, or what you're trying to say. I've owned this car for a little while.

 

Hyongx- When you turn the key on, does the CEL come on for 2~3 seconds and go off?

Have tested for Spark at the plugs. Take one of the old plugs, insert it in one of the wires and the ground the plug...have someone turn it over at you look for a nice Blue spark.

 

if CEL comes on when key is on and shuts off after a few seconds,,,

, you need to test if you get spark and fuel pressure ,,
