2003 Accord Power Window Problem

2003 Accord Power Window Problem
I have a 2003 Honda Accord. Recently the power windows started acting up. Sometimes the windows will not go down and if I manage to play around with the driver side switch and get them down the won't come back up right away. I keep playing with the switch until they eventually go up. The windows will go all the way up or down by themselves once I jiggle the switch a few times. Does anyone know what may be causing this? It seems to me that the driver side controls may be bad. I would like to hear what others think before running out and buying a new switch. Your help is much appreciated!! Thank you.

A drink spill or dust/dirt can cause this problem. I have removed the switch panel and repaired the switches (tiny parts so somewhat tricky). You should be able to find a used switch panel available at reasonable price. check car-part.com or ebay for a used switch panel.
If other door switches work OK for those doors I think you can safely conclude the switch panel is the problem.
good luck

I'm hoping to hear whether a new switch panel fixed the problem... I have an 03 Accord Coupe. Have replaced the motors on both windows and they worked for about a year but now Driver's side doesn't go up or down. Passenger does sometimes - it's finicky. Honda quoted me $200 just for the switch part. Ugh.

For your coupe, if it is the switch, you can just replace just the power window master switch instead of the whole panel. If you order through an online Honda dealer like Majestic Honda, it is about $123, plus shipping, or buy used from ebay or a salvage yard. I believe the Honda part number for your car is 35750-SDN-A12.

You also can try taking the switch out and spraying it electrical contact cleaner. Or get someone to do it for you. They have electrical contact cleaner at Home Depot, Lowes, Radio Shack, Frys Electronics, etc.
