2003 Accord stalls at idle.
Hey all,
I have an 03 with 4 cyl engine and auto trans.
When I start the car cold, it idles high to about 1200 RPM for a few moments then when it starts to warm up the idle drops... too far.
It drops to about 600 rpm. It will sit at that idle all day long as long as I don't put it in gear.
If I start to drive it will drive fine, but when I come to a stop the idle drops low again and will now stall.
It restarts without any issue and as long as I keep my foot on the gas to keep the RPM's up around 800 its just fine.
Where should I start?
It has 221,000 miles and its been using oil for the last 30,000 or so
Thanks in advance
Dave

I had a Rear O2 sensor light on for about 120,000 now, but thats it.
nothing new otherwise
IAC = ??
(edit) just found Idle Air Control)
(/edit)
I have never done more than brakes and oil/tranny fluid changes.
I'll look into how to change the PCV

In the video that hose referred to, is part of PCV system. However, the actual PCV valve is located next to the alternator.
This other thread shows how to change the PCV valve on an 8th generation 4 cylinder Accord; however, the same procedure is applicable to your 7th generation 4 cylinder, as they are both K24 engines.

Awesome, looks straight forward, I'll give that a shot first as it looks simplest.

I just checked the Air Filter, its dirty, but not terrible, I was thinking of doing the plugs as at the same time as the PCV valve,
I should do the plugs first and then check to see if that maked a difference...
perhaps with the oil usage one of the plugs is fouled enough to give me headaches too.

Yeah, my plugs are probably 85,000 old I did them a little late ( around 140,000 or so )
I'll be able to get out to the store tonight. I'll try and post up the results of just the plug change.
Thanks for all your help so far everyone, I know this can be solved.
