2004 steering wheel controls
I have a 2004 Honda Accord EX V6 and my steering wheel controls are not working after I had the transmission replaced and the mechanic accidentally removed the steering column. Has anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Well I took this as the steering wheel came off.....Or are you saying that the cruise control buttons no longer work but everything else does? Which if this is true I'd take it back, cruise worked, replaced trans and it does not?
....does the '04 have controls for the radio on the wheel (?), do they work.

He denies removing the steering wheel. He said that he pulled the steering column out but didn't remove the airbag.
All of the buttons, ie, cruise control and volume and mode controls for the radio don't work. It's like something got disconnected.

Really leads me to an issue with the clock spring....again, the cruise wroked before the trans repair/replace....they should resolve that, which I bet will fix the rest.
Just me but...again, the cruise was (?) working. now it is not. DEMAND resolution to this issue, don't bring up the radio and that, just the cruise.....no resolution to the issue with that shop, report them (BBB, ect).
Then find another shop or this isn't too bad of a DIY, and get it taken care of. I've seen these "clock springs" in the aftermarket (Dorman Products for example).

If he removed the steering column as a unit, maybe a wiring harness plug isn't seated right. Look around sorta above where driver's knees would be.
Another thing that leads back to the clockspring...
With steering column removed, there's nothing to prevent the steering wheel from spinning one complete revolution either way, then bolt it back onto the rack. In that case, as soon as the wheel is turned "too far" one way, the clockspring will be broken by spinning too far.

If what Jim described happend, all you would have to do is make a left/right turn out of the shop onto the road.......for the "spring" that would be too far since it was already one turn out.
