Default 2006 Accord EX V6 HVAC Issues

Hello All,

I've recently encountered an issue with my 2006 Accord EX V6 coupe (Auto Climate Control) where the HVAC is either all the way at Lo or at Hi. For example, if you set the unit at 72 and you had it at lo, then the HVAC temperature out of the vents will remain at Lo. I checked the blend doors and noticed they only shift at lo or hi. I ran some tests and found that the output on pin 1 at the motor (hi driver) is .5v until 83F, then it goes to a full 12v, I would assume this should work like a rheostat and not just be on or off.

Anyone experience similar issues?

Thanks,
Tom

You can run a test on the HVAC system and it will give you any fault codes if they are found. I would start with that test and see what code(s) it gives you.

I ran the HVAC test and no codes were generated.

Thanks,
Tom

I think the air mix motor like a stepper motor or a power window motor. 6 volts to the motor would not keep it half open. The mix motor will get power or ground signal to move the blend door, then stop when the control tells it to stop.

If you car has temperature settings for the driver's and passenger's side of the car, see if the problem happens on both sides of the car.
