Default battery light blinks with turn signal light.

I have an 89 Honda accord lxi and when I turn on the turn signal, the battery light flashes as the same interval as the blinker but I don't seem to have any power drain. Could this be a bad ground or just the start of my alternator dying? Any suggestions?

The common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum has a link for online shop manuals. Get the 86-89 manual.

I would start by disconnecting and cleaning all grounds that are easily accessible. Then hunt down the ones that directly ground the cluster and the alternator. You may want to disconnect the battery and clean all ends of both battery cables using sand paper or a wire brush.

You can always have a parts store test your alternator. With a volt meter and the engine running, the voltage at the battery should be around 14 volts.
