5w20 vs 5w30 in j30a1
I recently put in castrol gtx 5w20 into my 99 AV6 and then realized It called for 5w30, I can't tell a difference but I know I. Should have put in the recommended oil , I'll change it again before summer, but I was wondering if it can screw my car up any more than it is. (belt tensioner is ticking). Cause I can't afford a major repair.

Don't know for sure, but a good guess would be that in the 1999-2000 era the jury was still out on the robustness of 5W-20, by 2001 and 2002 millions of miles had been driven with that oil and it was already gaining a reputation as well suited for use in U.S. cars.

Interesting picture on the death of Windows XP. I used that OS and loved it for many years, and when Windows Vista came out I tried to love it as well; didn't happen, ended up hating it more than Windows ME. The laptop I bought in 2008 came with Vista and after I found that OS literally unusable, I down-graded it to Windows XP; unfortunately the drivers for power and thermal management were not available for XP and the darned thing overheated itself into the trash bin.
When Windows 7 was announced I rushed out and bought a business class laptop which offered a $100 down grade to XP and was thrilled at how well that system ran. Unfortunately my main client was forced from on high to convert my group to Windows 7 and so I used my personal laptop as my learning test bed. Guess what? I liked it; a lot! With the addition of Classic Shell I got the best of the Explorer navigation features I like from XP, and the best of Windows 7 including the far superior IP communications stack.
Windows 8? Don't get me started.
