80 AMP Battery Fuse
Hello All,
First post for me so I apologize in advance for any errors. I have inherited a 94 accord (through marriage). The car has been great but recently it would not start due to complete loss of power. I started under the hood by inspecting the fuses. I noticed that the 80 amp fuse for the battery was blown. I am reluctant to purchase and install a new fuse with out determining the source of the short. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it may be, the best place to start or what a common problem might be?

RE: 80 AMP Battery Fuse
Take a look at the main lead from the alternator. AFAIK, that is all that can blow that fuse. One of our esteemed techs will chime in soon to prove me wrong though.

I had the same problem with my accord. the metal A/C line was hitting one of the alternator connections and grounding it out. agreed with falkore, look around your alternator connections and make sure you have nothing else metal grounding out on it.
