90 Accord front end noise
I have a thumping noise coming from the front end of my 90 Honda Accord. The faster I drive the louder it gets.
I put the car up on jackstands and ran the car to reproduce the sound and to take pressure of the axle, ball joints, etc. It did. Sounded like it was coming from the transmission on at the passanger side differential where the axle connects to the transmission. So I went to the junk yard and bought another transmission. Put in the new transmission and the noise is still there!!
The thumping is rhythmic and constant. The biggest thing is that it gets louder the faster the wheels turn and whenaccelerating.Turning doesn't effect it the sound. Steering is not effected either. Can feel just a very minor vibration in steering from the noise. That is another reason I thought it might have been the transmission.
Any ideas? I'm starting tothink that it might be a wheelbearing.
