Default 91 accord lx, door/trunk open warning lights

Have a 2 door LX, and all 3 dash lights indicate the doors/trunk are open - regardless if doors are open/closed.

Is there something unique to the circuitry that would cause this?? No way all 3 switches freaked out at exactly the same time.

Thanks

Have you tried jogging the 'test' button?

I'm not sure what hondadude meant either.

Do the courtesy lights in the doors and in the trunk turn on and off when the door/trunk is open and closed?

no...they stay on all the time as long as the car is running. Doors/trunk open/closed...makes no difference.

Whenever strange lighting issues pop up, I would start looking for a bad, loose, or corroded grounds. I would remove the ground bolt, use some sand paper to clean the connection and the bolt/washer, then tighten back down.

The spooner link I posted in the online manuals thread in the DIY section has a 93 shop manual that is for UK cars. It should give you a general idea of where the grounds are located. It may or may not be identical to the US accord. I would think that the ones in the cabin under the dash and in the trunk would be possible culprits.

It is possible that a wire is grounded somewhere near the gauge assembly that would cause this to happen too.
