94 Accord ex 4 cylinder idle surge and shifting issues

You've got the fast-idle thermo valve (FITV) which is #14 in the picture below. The IACV (#19) is what you unplugged, right?


Sounds like the IACV isn't completely dead, because it raises the idle from 550rpm to 750rpm. But then it doesn't open any further when it's needed for the AC load. There may be a sticky position where it won't open fully?

Yeah thats what I unplugged and I do have the FITV . Do you think vacuum leak or the ignition system could be the culprit

I'm not sure what, that's why there's a list of things to check.

It was my distributor, cap, rotor , and wire set. I took it to Honda they figured it out. I am about ready to punch the shop that i took the car to first in the face for telling me that all these things were fine
