Default 97 Accord Rear Wheel Scraping Sound

The rear right wheel of my 1997 Accord LX has started making a strange scraping sound, it sounds like a metal rod scraping against the ground. I haven't had a chance to take the wheel off and take a closer look, is there anything I should look for?

I don't think its the breaks, I was in for an inspection yesterday and the breaks checked out.

Take off the wheel & spin the brake rotor. It might be as simple as a pebble stuck between the rotor & the splash shield.

i agree with Jm,, first thing is to remove the wheel and do a visual inspection,
when did the noise start ?? after the inspection ??
if car has rear rotors ( ABS system ) chk as Jim suggested but also chk the inner brake pads, a lot of mechanics when they chk brakes just look at the outer pads ,, the inner pads are the one that wear the most , push the wear bar in and spin the rotor if it scrapes you got worn pads

if it has rear drums ( no ABS) , spin the drum to locate noise, if inside drum, remove it and chk , shoes, springs etc etc
