verify the timing belt is set to the proper time by checking the crank and cam timing marks line up. If the car still runs rough, then try a compression test.

If crankshaft pulley came off, you could have lost the woodruff key that aligns the pulley w/ the crankshaft. This would cause a loss of timing between crankshaft and camshaft and likely valve damage.

I would not turn engine over w/ starter but turn manually w/ socket on crankshaft bolt to align for timing check. Pulley will need to be removed to check for woodruff key presence.

good luck

Need to check that crankshaft and camshaft align to TDC together.

It may be that you dodged valve damage, however if timing is good, then a compression check on all cylinders w/ starter is next step.

good luck
