Cool accord wont start,no fuel, no spark

i have a 1995 accord ex 2.2 single cam v-tec.
the problem started with the battery light coming on.
lights were low,no turn signals etc.
the car set over night. we drove it home during the daylight and it started the next day but didnt last long
i charged the battery and restarted the car .
pulled the positive cable from the battery and car died.
i purchased a new alternator and replaced it then the light was on and off.it was doing this before i replaced the alternator.it did start with a newly charged battery and it ran after will pulled the cable off with the new alternator. i thought the problem was solved.then my wife drove it and it would not restart.we tried to get it home this time and it would not restart even with a boost.
now there is no fuel and no spark.we looked further and found the ground cable off at the engine block.what could have went wrong when this cable come off.this is a mess and it started with what i thought was a simple alternator swap.the cable has been reattached to the engine. any help would be greatly appreciated.

A dead battery?

Does the starter turn the engine when you try to start it? What is the voltage across the terminals of the battery?

i appreciate your time on this and the condition of starting this car has changed.
the car will blow the 15a ecu fuse when you try to start the car.
we unhooked the alternator completly of the wires because we wanted to isolate the alternator, but to no avail it will blow the ecu fuse whether the alternator is connected or not.there must be a relay for this condition to be corrected.
i might add that all the other fuses are good.when the ecu fuse blows you can actually see a small spark and at that point it needs another fuse.

From the wiring diagram, the 15amp ECU fuse is for the main fuel relay.

Try unplugging that, and see if you still blow the fuse. See http://techauto.te.funpic.org/mainrelaydefine.php

The location on the 94-97 is towards the end of the page.

what ground cable did you find off ?? can you take picture of the ground cable that was disconnected and the place that you connected it ??
you are sure it was a ground cable?? sounds like you got a dead short ,, make sure that the white wire at ( from ) alternator is not touching ground anywhere

Talking figured it out

i went through the main relay and pulled wires and blew fuses until it quit
.then ran the fuse problem to the ecu.this was a very strange 5 days to get this far.
what i found was the old alternator was proven to be bad
i replaced the alternator and
i replaced the ecu and then pulled the new alternator and had it checked.
wow this thing just about locked up on the test stand
it moaned and the amps went through the roof.
and it was very warm.the guy testing it said he never saw anything like this.i hadnt either until now.
the damn alternator took out the fuel and spark circuit out of the ecu.
it is fine now.
new ecu,new alternator,problem solved.
i learned to have this stuff checked before i leave the parts store.
all this because of workmanship on the alternator.
thank you for your time an correspondence.

Voltage regulator is built into the alternator. Sounds like that thing was bad? Voltage way too high? It's a good thing it blew fuses instead of blowing your ECU.

hey jim it did mess up the ecu.it fried the fuel and spark areas of the ecu.
and i think your right there was a regulator problem .
damn alternator was probably made on a monday or friday.
i got another ecu at a salvage yard.
i had to find a ecu for a 1995 accord,2.2,with v tech and automatic.
it was a miracle i found one.
they wanted 300.00 to 350.00 to send this thing away and have it reworked.
i picked this up for 40.00
the guy didnt know what it was.i told him it helps the spark and fuel management
he was perplexed and said oh just give me 40.00 I DID HAPPILY!!!!
thanks for your input
