Getting SRS Trouble Codes?

Getting SRS Trouble Codes?
Hi all. I have a 2004 4dr V6 Accord. SRS light stays on. I think its the steering cable reel since the horn has been intermittent for awhile, but not sure that's the problem. I have the Helm manual and it says I need to attach the HDS to read the trouble codes. I'm not sure what the HDS is since I can't find it described anywhere. I have an OBDII scanner but its not reading any codes.
Is the HDS a different reader than an OBDII? If so, can I get the codes without one??

RE: Getting SRS Trouble Codes?
the hds is the honda diagnostic system scantool. it's used to go into all the systems on the car, not just pgmfi side. the only system required to have certain guidelines is the pgmfi side, that's why there are a ton of check engine light code readers.
there isn't any particular srs problem on your year that stands out more than the other, except probably a bad battery. a bad battery usually sets an srs internal malfunction code. i've seen everything from high resistance in the airbag to broken cable reels to bad seal weight sensors, so good luck!

Can you get the codes without the HDS? Counting blinking lights somewhere? The Helm manual has the codes if I can get them out of the system. If its a cable reel problem, I can make that repair myself.
