Default Always replace wheel bearing in pairs? (Duplicate Posting)

(Its a duplicate posting by error)
I replaced one of the front wheel bearings and that took care of the noise-while-driving problems I had.

But I read somewhere that both the front wheel bearings are to be replaced together. Isthat true and why?
