Problem with the cylinder position sensor circuit.

What kind of accord are you working on?

Do you know if that would have anything to do with it taking off slow? It feels like it is taking off 2nd gear.

That is one of the sensors inside of the distributor.

I would remove the distributor cap and look for oil inside of the distributor. Or a coating of red dust.

There is also a ground bolt on the thermostat housing that I suggest that you remove, clean the bolt and eyelet with a wire brush or sandpaper, then reattach.

You should also measure the resistance of the #1 cylinder position sensor at the distributor connector. It should be 350-700 ohms.

If good, move to ECM connector, release, and measure resistance. Wiring and connector diagram req'd to know which pins to check at the ECM.

If resistance measures good at the ECM, then replace ECM w/ used part. Check car-part.com and ebay for used ECMs.

good luck

it's either the distributor or the ecm, 9 times out of 10 it's the dist. check all connections first, clear code and recheck.

Inside the distributor. You can't just replace that sensor, the whole distributor would need replaced. Do the resistance tests TexasHonda suggested.

At the distributor connector, the orn and wht wire pins would be contacted for the resistance check.

Same wires at ECM, but B connector (mid connector of three, C435 in 90 Accord). You have to remove the connector from the ECM. This may require releasing ECM from mountings to gain enough access to connectors.

good luck
