Default Cost for belt replacement, CV boot change?

I need my alternator belt changed, and my right/ front CV boot replace due to a tear. My mechanic friend is recommending I change the entire axle...not just the boot because it's "easier". I live in Hawaii, where everything costs more, but I was wondering what a reasonable price for labor only to replace alternator belt, and change CV boot would be. I've already purchased parts, so I'd rather just change the boot (lifetime warranty) instead of the entire axle. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What year your accord is would help, as its harder on some than others.

But generally speaking changing an alternator belt should only be 1/2 hour of labor, so $25-35 or so if that. Its a pretty easy job that in reality can be done in a few minutes.

The CV boot replacement is a little more complicated job, as axles can be time consuming to remove and then disassemble etc. I would say a mechanic would bill you maybe 2-3 hours of labor for this, so $100-150 or so.

Hey live2rice! Guess that would've been helpful. Wondering how to get my car info under my name like I see others have. Anyways, 96 Accord LX 4 cyl. auto. Thanks for the info. I got quoted 40 bucks for the belt replacement, which I may attempt myself after getting some info on here, and 200 bucks for the labor on the CV boot. I think I may just replace the entire axle after all, being that the axle is 80 bucks, and the labor is 60. Thanks again! Have a good one.
