Default Crackling noise after change of AC compressor and Belt

Hello,

My car is Honda Accord 2007, The AC stopped working a few days back, i took it to the auto mechanics to get it fixed. He said i needed to change the Compressor which i did. after the fix, the belt started making a whinning noise. The belt was also changed at his instance. I have driven the car for 5hrs now out of town. I noticed when ever i stop at the traffic light with the AC on, I get this crackling noise coming from the Belt area. but when i'm moving, or raise the accelerator, the noise stops. Please what could be the problem.

I cant find the start new thread button, hence my post here.

Noise could be a faulty idler bearing.

However, you paid for a complete repair and this should be resolved by the mechanic who did the work.

What was the problem w/ original compressor?

good luck

Thanks for the reply. After he removed the compressor to check why my car wasnt cooling, he noticed that the it was leaking oil from the seal inside. hence the need to change the compressor
