Cylinder Position sensor

Baffled - CYP checks out OK.
2000 Accord, 4cyl. Engine check light on. Flash code 9 (CYP fault). CYP resistance 985 Ohms (within spec). No continuity to ground. Checked (visually & by feel) the connections at the PCM. Cleared code and fault signal returns.
Now what? dh says to "chk at the ecu connector". Engine Control Unit. I guess PCM (Powertrain Control Module). Am I missing something?
Is anybody still following this old thread? Any leads greatly appreciated.

You disconnect the correct connector at the ECU. This will require removing retaining nuts on ECU module to access the connector. Check resistance of CYP sensor from that connector.
If the reistance at that point is same as from the distributor, then ECU has a circuit board fault. A shop manual is essential for finding correct connector and wire colors.
I had exactly the same problem w/ my 94EX. A replacement used ECU found via car-part.com fixed the problem.
good luck
