Driver side axle replacement tips?
Sorry if this has been covered, but I can't get the search feature to work at all (no matter what I enter as a search term, nothing is ever found) and the link for the FAQ How to Axle replacement is dead. I'm picking up the driver side axle from autozone after work and hope to have it done by tomorrow. I have a Haynes manual and a good set of tools. Are there any specialty tools I need to get from AZ when I'm there to make the job easier? Is there anything else I should look at replacing while I'm doing the axle?
Thanks,
Thomas

RE: Driver side axle replacement tips?
Its a somewhat complicated job. You will need a 36mm socket, ball joint separator, very large screw driver, and a breaker bar and or pipe. You will want to replace the axle seals while you are at it.

Do you have a big enough socket to remove the nut from the rotor that holds the rotor assy connected to the cv axle. Other then that you should be ok, as long as your tire rod does not give you any pain in the a**. Also make sure you have a Big F****ing Hammer just in case.....
