Easy fix, or new regulator?

Easy fix, or new window regulator?
The rear passenger door window, on my 03 Sedan started making this cable binding sound when I raise the window. I took the door panel off to investigate, and the cable that raises the window glass was loose on top of what I assume is the motor. The cable was still connected, but it, along with the spring were loose, not tight like the other cable. Is this fixable, or am I looking at regulator replacement in my future?

I'm thinking it over. If I take the regulator off, try to fix it, and fail, I'll have to put it all back in, then order the new part, and take it all apart again when I get the new part. Don't want to just give up, but I don't enjoy doing things twice.
I will probably get a new regulator, then try to fix the other one anyway. At least I'll know if it's fixable or not next time it happens, to me or someone else. I was really hoping I wouldn't be the first to try fixing it.

Understand....usually that is the way it works. You buy and replace the "bad" part with a new one. Then you inspect and play with said bad part and find out how it "really" works and what to do to fix it
I'd guess Redbull didn't fix his door lock issue with a fix...instead replaced the part with a new one and then figured out what failed in the old one.....Adler replaced Thermo A on his and then took apart the old one to find out what failed.
