Default Erratic Idle due to TPS?

Is it logical? when i gas it, the car jerks only in the 1k-1.5k rpm range. I've checked with a local mechanic and he said its the TPS. Unforunatly, new ones go around 500+ since they dont sell the TPS by itself, but only with the whole damn throttle body. I just want to make sure this could be a problem b4 i empty out my wallet.

PS. I've already tried replacing IAC valve, and cleaned the intake manifold. no dice.

Opinions will be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Try disconnecting the vacuum line to the egr valve and go for a drive. Does that change it?
