Hello all,

A month ago started getting the FCW 03 Failure error (2013 Accord) after a rain storm and it hasn't gone away. Any ideas what I can do?

If that is the Forward Collision Warning system, something has blocked one or more of the sensors, or the system may need to be re-calibrated.

Check under your hood around the front bumper area for any debris.

 

Thanks DRD... I checked where you mention but can't find anything. From reading around the Interwebs it seems to be the camera located behind the rear view mirror.



I'm going to contact Honda support to see what they say. I did read on some forum about a software update for the radio and the FCW.

 

If like some of the 16 Pilot, there might be another sensor in the grille - pointing out of the "H".

 

For the 2013 Accords, only the Touring trim has the additional radar unit mounted in the front grille. It should be located closer to the passenger side of the front bumper/grille area.

 

Thanks guys. Still no luck. Can't locate any other camera beside the one where the rear view mirror is.

 

Mine started flashing that same warning today. "FCW System Failed." First I had trouble starting with the push button ignition. Finally after 5 tries the car started. Then it gave me the FCW warning and the engine, tire and a few other icons stayed lit. I didn't know if the car was about to blow up or not. It would be nice if the warnings alerted you to either stop driving immediately or tell you that it's ok to keep driving.

It's Sunday and I was 25 miles from home. I didn't want to get stuck if I could get home so I drove very carefully and parked in the garage facing out, in case I have to be towed in the morning.

I just received a recall notice yesterday regarding the battery sensor system. I'm wondering if this is related.

And as for that Forward Collision Warning System -- I think it's useless. It beeps annoyingly if there is a car 100 yards out but it doesn't utter a peep when I'm about to crash into an unseen parking curb.
