Default gas smell in car

hey guys im going crazy here trying to figure this problem out. its a 95 accord and I smell burnt gas in the car under hard acceleration. I took it to 3 muffler shops and they all said I have no leaks. where else can exhaust smoke come out of? is there a way to find a gas leak? the smoke is becoming really annoying.

you smell burnt gas? and you smell it in the car with or without windows open????

you might have a pin hole in ur exhaust, whether its after the cat or possibly ur manifold/headers. thats the only way you would really smell gas. if it was coming from ur exhaust most of the time it would ignite and make a pop noise like backfire, except ur resonator would silence it.

and what you might smell is tranny fluid if your driving it hard, when was the last time you flushed ur tranny fluid + what color does it look like? your tranny will be fine regardless but you will smell it after you drive it hhhhaaaarrrrrdddd

lol i had a feeling it was ur tranny. more of a sweat smell then rich like gas.

*you can flush ur tranny and put new fluids + a lil bit of synthetic in because of he age. also there is sealers you can pour in that will help seal any small leaks. just dont let this go on too long

ok so i just got under the car and the tranny isnt leaking it was just some oil i had which would drop when the car would get hot. but i did notice while my dad accelerated the bottom part of the headers started smoking. the more he accelerated the more smoke. and nothing absolutely nothing was dropping on it. btw these are some headers i picked up from ebay. Will they keep smoking till the paint comes off or something? i read online headers from ebay smoke till they drop the paint or something.

i suggest finding out what brand the " ebay headers " are so u can narrow your search down.
it can take a few days to a few weeks for the metal to bend/shrink etc from heating up. but as for smoke? you shouldnt see any and if its coming from the headers then either they are not a tight/direct fit, or you have a pin hole.

* what do u mean by paint on the headers? they should be stainless steel lol
* idk who installed ur headers, but i would suggest having a shop weld everything together to make sure there are no leaks

They are welded, Well it just starts smoking like if its getting to hot or something lol, but the headers do look like they are losing their color, and are turning less silver lol cheap headers. I read about putting on a coat of headers paint from vht and see if that does anything O_o the non flammable one
