Gear Shift lights/lamps

Gear Shift lights/lamps
It looks as though the gear shift panel is not lighting up (not the one on the dash the one around the shifter)
It also appears that although the passenger heat warmer seat switch is backlit , the drivers side one is not. However both seam to be working and both indicators (dots) come on when engaged.
is this the same problem? is this a fuse or lamp or electrical issue?
thanks.

It is unlikely that all the shift position indicator lights on the console would fail simultaneously, so a common fault is suggested. Looking a wiring diagram the ground wire is only common fault. You will need to remove the console and find the black ground wire G101. You may need a Honda Shop Manual to locate the ground, however it should not be far from the console.
It is not clear from transmission range switch, but I suspect that shift position lights are led's and may not be replaceable.
good luck

It could be as simple as a loose bulb or burned out bulb. Your accord has the same switches as my TSX and my passenger switch has a problem with the back light bulb. Also the VSA switch. I haven't had time to inspect.

You may be able to find a match at the autoparts store. I think that I found one that matches that description. Yours is 14V and 1.4W.
The Honda OEM number is 54070-SDC-A81. You can get one at the dealership.

Easy to Replace SI bulb
Having installed aux cable recently, had the trim removal tool and knowledge. 3 steps. 1-Remove shift **** (pay close attention to position of internal plunger) w/ 2 screws. 2-Use trim removal tool to pry up console piece over shifter (then un-plug seat heater switches). 3-Remove black shifter cover by carefully prying open 4 tabs in in each corner (lift while prying). Now you'll see the bulb and socket. Twist the socket 1/4 turn, then slide toward drivers seat. Repeat to re-install.
O'Reilly stocks (or can get in a day) oem bulb ($3 for 10?). I wanted brighter, so ordered brightest LED from superbrightleds.com https://www.superbrightleds.com/vehi...1403&year=2006 . Also added HD foil to bottom of illuminator cup to increase reflection. I was told LED's can be +/- specific, so be sure to check that bulb comes on before re-installing trim pieces (insert bulb, turn key to on position, turn on headlights & replace shifter ****/shift to reverse [doesn't come on in park]). If bulb doesn't light, pull it out of socket, rotate 180 degrees, then re-insert.
