HELP. Tachometer died 2 week ago. Now, won't start. Smells gas when trying to start
Hey all,
1997 Accord LX 4 cyl. 2.2 L 169K
Recently the tachometer started jumping all over like crazy when gas is given - It finally stopped working on me about 2 weeks ago.
Soon afterward, when I started the car, it would strain to turn completely over. One time, it was fine. The next, I would have to pump the gas to try to turn it over.
It finally died, yesterday. It smells of gas even when not pumping the gas to start it. It acts like it wants to catch but, it doesn't turn over. The battery has already been tested. It is fine. Anyone ever have any experience with something like this?
Not sure if the tachometer not working is related to the issue of the car dying.
Thanks

I created a new thread, as your post is not related to the thread you posted in.
The problem may possibly be related to the Ignition Control Module (aka ICM or ignitor) located inside the distributor. The engine speed output also comes from the ICM. Some parts stores can test it for free if you take out the igniter and bring it to them.
