Default How critical is the oil grade from 5w-30 and 5w20

I just installed an 02 engine in to my 99 accord, the 99 use 5w-30, so i bought a case of it. Now i put in the 02 motor thinking it's using the same 5w-30 without looking at the oil cap, today i look at the oil cap it says 5W-20 on it. Oops but anyway should i drain the oil out and get the 5w-20 or it should be fine that way until the next oil change then go back to 5W20 ?

It is always better to go with what Honda suggests.

I know that on my 05 TSX, the oil cap says 5w-30. Honda switched the specs for the 06 having the same engine to 5w-20. So you should be ok.

If you are worried, then you can put in the 5w-20. You might get slightly better gas mileage with the 5w-20 (2-3%). It is probably why honda used it in the ULEV motor.

Okay thanx. I will go back to 5W20 on the next oil change.
